February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history. Black history is American history, and its impact can be seen in education, science, civil rights, arts, sports, and leadership. Throughout this month, we will highlight individuals whose work has shaped the United States and continues to influence our lives today.
Day 1 – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a leader of the Civil Rights Movement who fought for equality through nonviolent action. His leadership helped pass the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act. His legacy reminds us of the power of justice and peaceful change

CONGRATULATIONS:
It was a huge weekend for our girls' basketball program! Our Lions swept Heritage on Friday night. Varsity scored a big 64-41 victory, led by 32 points by Emma Bird and amazing defense by Olivia May. On Saturday, our Varsity team blew by Wheat Ridge 56-32, led by Lena Drakos with 17 points. The team is at home for two games this week: Wednesday against Green Mountain and Friday against Pomona, both at 5:00/6:30. Great job, Lions!

ACADEMICS:
Attention all students: First semester honor roll has been assembled. Students, if you wish to opt out of being on the honor roll banners hanging in the hallway, please see Ms. Nordlander, or Ms Schwabauer, in counseling, to remove your name before the banners are printed.
If you have questions, please see your counselor.
Thanks
Mr. P
