Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to our Lion Unified Basketball team for their awesome victory over Littleton Transition on Monday night 74-66 – Way to go LIONS!!

Congratulations to the Lion Boys Basketball Varsity and C Teams for their wins over the Thornton Trojans last night. Way to go LIONS!!

Academic Announcements:

"Bring Your Friend to Class" If you are interested in Automotive and wish to shadow, on January 12th the Automotive Department at Arapahoe Community College welcomes you! And, the Teacher Cadet and Health Sciences are having an open house the afternoon of January 12 at Ames from 3:30 - 7:00 pm.

Swim Waiver Test at Heritage High School: HHS is offering the swim waiver test open to all LPS students, on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2:30-4:30 pm. Any interested students need to contact Sheri Rossing at HHS, 303-347-7645 before Jan. 18. You MUST signup in order to take the test. The LPS standard district swim waiver test criteria can be found under the Counseling Tab on the LHS website, or by stopping by the Counseling Office.

Club Announcements:

FBLA members...this week is the ONLY time to take your FBLA district tests. Testing will take place each day immediately after school in room 124 OR you can come by on an off period to take your test.

FBLA members attending the district conference: We have a very important meeting tomorrow at 2:20 pm in room 124. Please do not miss this meeting! See you there! Mrs. Martin

Sports Announcements:

Boys Swimming: our first meeting for the season is tomorrow in room 134E at 2:30. We will discuss preseason and season commitments. If you cannot attend please see Coach Foto to get this important information.

Boys Lacrosse: Sign-up for Indoor Winterball now in the athletic office. Check to make sure your name is on the sign-up sheet so we can keep you in the communication loop. Preseason conditioning will be Mondays & Wednesdays on LHS turf from 2:45-4PM; Tuesdays & Thursdays in the weight room from 2:45-3:30PM. Contact Coach Matt Marshall if you have any questions.

At Rangeview HS tonight at 7:00pm, the Varsity Girls Basketball will be going up against Rangeview Raiders! Come out and support your team!

Special Events:

Ink Magazine will be hosting its first poetry slam tonight at 7:00 PM in the theater. Admission is free, but you may be hounded for a small donation that will help fund our magazine, so bring your $100 bills. LPS grad and Denver spoken-word poet Kyle Sutherland will be hosting. Come to rock the mic or just to hoot and holler!!

For those who wish to bring a guest to the Winter Dance on January 28th, guest forms are available at student services.
