The Littleton Lions JV Football team battled the weather and the Kennedy Commanders yesterday and prevailed with a 20-0 shutout victory.  Way to go Lions and good work Defense!

Academic Announcements:

LHS will hold the swim test for all LPS students Nov. 7 or 8 at 2:30 pm sharp in the LHS pool.  Registration is limited to 30 students each day, and students can sign up in the counseling office.  A criteria sheet is available on the LHS website or when you sign up.  In addition, Arapahoe High School is also offering the swim test on the same dates but at 6:00 am.  Please contact Mrs. Leyden at AHS for registration information.

Club Announcements:

Attention all Student Council officers, Ambassadors and General Council members!!  We have a General Council meeting in the forum at 2:20 on Monday the 29th!  We will be finalizing all of our Halloween events and distributing
t-shirts.  See you there!

Halloween is next week and Student Council wants you to think of the most creative or most creepy, or most imaginative or most ghoulish costume ever!  We are hosting a Costume Contest on Wed. Oct. 31st--head to the cafeteria during an off period and get your picture taken by a Student Council member, and you are automatically entered into the Contest.  Prizes will be awarded and winners announced the next day.  Make sure your costumes are Code of Conduct appropriate--meaning no full face masks, suggestive outfits, or inappropriately gross and gory costumes.  Thanks!

Besides Costumes, what else do we associate with Halloween?  PUMPKINS!  Student Council is hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest open to all students AND teachers on Tuesday Oct. 30th!  We will be in the cafe with all the carving tools you need, just bring your imagination!  Be there at 2:30 to carve away!  Prizes will be given to the top Pumpkins and they will be displayed in the front lobby on Halloween day.  See you there!

Sport Announcements:

There is a very important wrestling meeting on Wednesday 10/31 in room 133W at 2:15 for anyone interested in wrestling this year.

Open mat wrestling is going on Tuesday 10/30 and Thursday 11/1 in the north gym on the new wrestling mat for anyone interested in checking it out.  Everyone interested is welcome.

Special Events:

Jazz Band will play a few tunes in the lobby today after school!

For ALL of those that auditioned for Lions Follies set lists are posted in the library, main office, and the choir hall bulletin board.  Rehearsals start Monday, November 5th.

The Stride is coming up on Sunday 10/28. Now is your last chance to register. You can do this online through the school website until Friday, or on race day at the event.  We are anticipating a great turn out from the LHS community. See you on Sunday!

Other Announcements:

Academic Lettering Students:  If you were not able to attend the Academic Awards Ceremony held on Monday night, you can come to the main office to pick up your award. Please see Ms. Mortenson.

Blog Announcements:

Basketball season is nearly upon us.  Any girls interested in playing for LHS this winter should plan on attending tryouts on November 9th, 10th and 11th.  There will be a preseason camp on Monday November 5th through Thursday November 8th here at LHS to get ready for tryouts.  Please check the flyers around the building for exact times for tryouts and camps.  Finally, don't forget about open gyms the next two Tuesday nights!

It is time to send your friend or sweetheart a Halloween O Gram!   A Halloween O Gram is a message and a handful of candy that you buy from a Student Council member and send to your friends!  Student Council will be selling these for only a dollar! All the money goes to the Musana Orphanage in Uganda-so help Student Council out and buy lots of Halloween O Grams.

Hello LHS families! Last year PTO organized an upgrade to the library, filling the two empty planters with silk plants. The plants have given the library a whole new look. It’s a wonderful improvement! This year, we will be tackling the planters in the cafeteria. We can use your help! If you have any silk plants (green plants only, please) that you are no longer using, we can put those to use in the cafeteria. PTO will begin collecting plants, and when we have enough, we will start “planting” new displays. If you have anything you would like to donate, please bring them to school (leave them with Therese Mashak) or email Wendy Burbage  (wlb1963@msn.com). Thank you in advance for helping us beautify our school!
