Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to Max Chandler for his outstanding pole vault performance at the Mt Sac Relays in California.  The girls 4x100 meter team of Rosa Hardarson, Sarrelle Schueltis, Elizabeth Rothrock and Emily Burch also had a stellar performance.

Academic Announcements:

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Club Announcements:

Key Club is meeting on this Thursday, April 25th at 2:20 in room 126.  We will be discussing elections for next year’s officers. 

Musana gifts on sale during Earth Week!  Starting on Thursday of this week, you can head over to the main lobby and pick out a hand-made beautifully colored tote bag, or maybe some handmade earrings, or you and your friends could pool your money and buy a chicken for the kids at Musans!  The Musana gifts will be available in the main lobby all day on Thursday and Friday--so bring in some extra money to help out our friends over in Uganda! 

We will move the Earth Day clean up to: Next Monday April 29th with the hopes that we will have a sunny day that makes outdoor cleanup fun! All interested students, teachers, parents please join us at 2:20pm in the main LHS lobby.

Special Events:

During Earth Week the LHS Peace Jam and Green Clubs are challenging each grade level to each raise $600 per class for the Colorado and Kenya based non-profit organization “Technology Partnership” to connect a Kenyan School to the Internet which will help students attain their educational goals and develop as global citizens here in the United States and in Kenya. Collection envelopes for each class will be set up in the LHS Forum and Library during Earth Week. Monday we will announce the winning class.  Additionally, there will be an opportunity to volunteer on Technology Partnership school assistance projects in Kenya on a 2014 Kenya Service and Study Trip-an adventurous way to gain IB CAS credit or just see more of the world. Trip information is available on the Peace Jam bulletin board in front of the Library or talk with Mr. Gordon in the Social Studies Department.

*Tomorrow is designated as Bike/Carpool to School Day. Please wear a helmet and bring a bike lock if you ride your bike, and wear seat belts in your cars!

Other Announcements:

Do you love Karaoke? After Prom is this Saturday and it is available!   Buy your $10.00 tickets outside of the cafĂ© on Wednesday and Friday during lunch and get your name in the drawing for great prizes.  You can also buy your tickets during lunch or after school through the bookkeeper all week long.  Brunswick Zone on Saturday!!  Be there!!

Guest forms for prom will be available in student services office and main office and are due back by this Thursday, April 25th.

Blog Announcements:

To all LHS parents of junior and senior students – we need your help for 2 ½ hours this coming Saturday/Sunday from 1-3:30 a.m. to help chaperone for after-prom at Brunswick Zone- Park Meadows. We still have 8 positions that need to be filled to help ensure a safe and fun evening for our students. Please consider lending a hand. Thanks to everyone who has already signed up to help out! This event can not take place without the help of many volunteers throughout the evening! Seniors, please read the graduation letter posted on the LHS website.  This letter will give you the information you need to prepare for the upcoming graduation activities. Thank you.

On Thursday, May 2nd, there will be a special Cyber Safety workshop for all LPS parents at the Ames facility at 6:30 PM.  This event will include important learning opportunities for parents to help students stay safe online, including a student panel where parents can hear from teens about how they use technology in their lives, including Facebook, the Internet and cell phones.  We need you!  There are still seats open on the Student Panel for this important event and if you are interested in helping out please stop by the main office to get contact information.

LPS Summer School Brochures are available in the Counseling Office.   The enrollment forms must be signed by your counselor and parent and returned to Arapahoe Community College.  ACC accepts checks, credit card or money orders, but they do not accept cash.  Please see your counselor for more information.
