Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to Max Chandler for his outstanding pole vault performance at the Mt Sac Relays in California.  The girls 4x100 meter team of Rosa Hardarson, Sarrelle Schueltis, Elizabeth Rothrock and Emily Burch also had a stellar performance.  Way to go Lions!!

Please congratulate the following Littleton FCCLA members for winning the district Cupcake Wars.  They put in many hours of practice.  Hailey Mattox, Bhewattie Nauth, Caitlin Mitchell, Emma Capra, Lilly Bell and Joe Caswell.

Congratulations to LHS FBLA members who competed at the State conference in Vail.  All competitors represented our school very well!    Junior Gina Tolley was elected as the FBLA State Secretary for the 2013-2014 school year!  Graham Powers qualified for the National FBLA conference and the following students earned awards:  Kelly Dinneen 3rd place in Business Financial Plan, Ryan Dinneen and Raj Reddy 3rd place in Business Plan, Naya Bere and Emily Connaughton 8th place in Emerging Business Issues, Gina Tolley 7th place in Hospitality Management and Pam Sena 7th place in Future Business Leader.  Nice job LHS FBLA!

Academic Announcements:

An admissions officer from CU-Denver will be in the Post Grad Center on Thursday at 11 a.m.  This is a great opportunity to find out about the programs and the application process to this selective school on the downtown Auraria campus.

Club Announcements:


Key Club is meeting tomorrow at 2:20 in room 126.  We will be discussing elections for next year’s officers. 

FBLA members:  please join us tomorrow at 2:20 pm in room 124.  We will celebrate our FBLA achievements this school year with food and letters!  Officer applications will be available at this meeting.

Musana gifts on sale during Earth Week!  Starting tomorrow, you can head over to the main lobby and pick out a hand-made beautifully colored tote bag, or maybe some handmade earrings, or you and your friends could pool your money and buy a chicken for the kids at Musana!  The Musana gifts will be available in the main lobby all day on Thursday and Friday--so bring in some extra money to help out our friends over in Uganda! 

Sport Announcements:


Open gyms for girls basketball continue tonight and all future Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm.  All girls planning to tryout next season are encouraged to attend!  See you there!

Special Events:

During Earth Week the LHS Peace Jam and Green Clubs are challenging each grade level to raise $600 per class for the Colorado and Kenya based non-profit organization Technology Partnership.  Collection envelopes for each class will be set up in the LHS Forum and Library during Earth Week. Monday we will announce the winning class.  Additionally, there will be an opportunity to volunteer on Technology Partnership projects in Kenya on a 2014 Kenya Service and Study Trip-an adventurous way to gain IB CAS credit or just see more of the world. Trip information is available on the Peace Jam bulletin board in front of the Library or talk with Mr. Gordon in the Social Studies Department.

*The films shown today are a mix of environmental issues and adventure films that hopefully will promote the following idea:  By learning to play outside and be comfortable outside people will hopefully take an interest in the environment. Once people have an interest in the environment they will begin to take action to understand and protect the Earth.  All films will be shown in the forum.

Other Announcements:

Don't forget to buy your prom ticket at the bookkeeper's window this week during lunches or after school. Avoid long lines to purchase at the dance and get them early! $40 for juniors and guests and FREE for seniors. Don't forget to bring your school ID and we will see you Saturday night for Midnight in Paris!

Do you love Karaoke? After Prom is this Saturday and it is available!   Buy your $10.00 tickets outside of the cafĂ© today and Friday during lunch and get your name in the drawing for great prizes.  You can also buy your tickets during lunch or after school through the bookkeeper all week long.  Brunswick Zone on Saturday!!  Be there!!

Guest forms for prom will be available in student services office and main office and are due by tomorrow to the student services office.

Blog Announcements:

We will move the Earth Day clean up to: Next Monday April 29th with the hopes that we will have a sunny day that makes outdoor cleanup fun! All interested students, teachers, parents please join us at 2:20pm in the main LHS lobby.

To all LHS parents of junior and senior students – we need your help for 2 ½ hours this coming Saturday/Sunday from 1-3:30 a.m. to help chaperone for after-prom at Brunswick Zone- Park Meadows. We still have 8 positions that need to be filled to help ensure a safe and fun evening for our students. Please consider lending a hand. Thanks to everyone who has already signed up to help out! This event can not take place without the help of many volunteers throughout the evening! Seniors, please read the graduation letter posted on the LHS website.  This letter will give you the information you need to prepare for the upcoming graduation activities. Thank you.

LPS Summer School Brochures are available in the Counseling Office.   The enrollment forms must be signed by your counselor and parent and returned to Arapahoe Community College.  ACC accepts checks, credit card or money orders, but they do not accept cash.  Please see your counselor for more information. 

On Thursday, May 2nd, there will be a special Cyber Safety workshop for all LPS parents at the Ames facility at 6:30 PM.  This event will include important learning opportunities for parents to help students stay safe online, including a student panel where parents can hear from teens about how they use technology in their lives, including Facebook, the Internet and cell phones.  We need you!  There are still seats open on the Student Panel for this important event and if you are interested in helping out please stop by the main office to get contact information.
