Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The LHS Lady Lionfish varsity placed 5th at the Arapahoe Relays meet held last Saturday.  The Lady Fish placed 2nd in the junior varsity division.

The varsity wrestling team finished in 5th place over the weekend.  Finishing in 3rd place was:  Poe Di, Jon Barron, Gerard Ruybal, Jose Arroyo, and Aron Pino.  Finishing in 4th place was:  Jacob Figueroa and Gustavo Bautista.  Way to go Wrestling!

 Academic Announcements: 

Attention 8th period Advisement, don’t forget to start bringing in your Care Package Items, we need to have all of them by this Friday! If you don't remember what you promised to bring in, see Joey or Alex.  Thanks!

Club Announcements: 

ATTENTION all Student Council Officers and Ambassadors, please let Ms. Prestel know by Tuesday 10th if you are going on the Tri-School Leadership Conference.  You can leave a note on her desk if you cannot find her in the Social Studies office.  Thanks!

Sport Announcements:

Come out and support our Lions. Here are the upcoming home games for this week:

Mon, Dec 9 - All three of our Boys Basketball teams are playing Columbine tonight starting at 4:00 pm with our C-Team, 5:30 pm with our JV's, and at 7:00 pm our Varsity team is playing.

Tues, Dec 10 - Our Varsity Boys Basketball team is playing Green Mountain High School at 7:00 pm.

Wed, Dec 11 - Our Varsity Boys Basketball team is playing Palmer High School at 7:00 pm.

Thurs, Dec 12 - Our Swim & Diving team has a meet with ThunderRidge High School starting at 4:00 pm.

Our Girls Basketball team has a tournament this weekend - with our JV team playing at 7:00 pm in the South Gym and Varsity playing at 7:30 pm in the North Gym. The tournament ends on Saturday.

Special Events:

Get your snowflake from the Giving Snowman for Musana Children’s Home in Uganda and for the Samaritan House in Denver.  All you have to do is take the snowflake home, look at the suggested gifts on the back of the snowflake then bring your gift back to school and put it in the Social Studies office by Ms Prestel's desk by Dec. 20th!  BUT, you had better hurry--the snowflakes go fast!!

The LHS Women’s Ensemble Choir is accepting new and good used blankets which will be donated to the Denver Rescue Mission.  Please bring your blanket donations to the Choir Room or give them to a member of the Women’s Ensemble Choir.  Donations will be accepted through Monday, December 16th, and then delivered to the Denver Rescue Mission during Finals Week.

Other Announcements: 

The Counseling Department is helping students and families in need during the Christmas holidays by providing families with gift cards to one of the following stores: King Soopers, Safeway, Target and Walmart.  If you would like to make a donation please bring gift cards (please indicate the dollar amount for each card) to the Counseling Department by December 13, 2013. Thank you!

All Students, The time is running out to purchase a yearbook!!  You can order your yearbook through the book keeper.  Don't be left out!   The deadline to purchase is December 14.
