Test results from the LHS testing day will be distributed to students who took the test as follows:
EXPLORE (9th grade):  Distributed in Advisement classes on Monday and Tuesday, next week,  Nov. 11th-12th
Practice ACT (11th grade):  Distributed in Social Studies Nov. 14/15
Students who are absent on the days of distribution can pick up their results AFTER the above listed dates in the Counseling Office.

There will be a CO ED, 4 versus 4 soccer tournament from 3-5pm in the stadium on Wednesday, November 20, as part of International Week. Teams of 2 boys and 2 girls from any grade may participate. Register your team with coach Banfield before Friday, November 15.

Wrestling season starts on Wednesday, November 13th.  If you are interested in wrestling see coach Burton in room 133W.

Girls Preseason Basketball Camp continues tonight from 5:00-7:00.  Anyone planning on attending tryouts next week is strongly encouraged to attend.

Pre-season Boys Basketball camp continues tonight from in the North Gym.  All players interested in trying out are welcome to attend.

LHS is holding a book drive to support the schools in Lyons impacted by the recent Colorado floods.  Their schools are in need of books appropriate for students in grades K-12.  You can drop off new or gently used books in the attendance office, library or in your language arts classroom starting November 11.  The drive will run through November 22, so there is plenty of time to be part of this flood relief effort!

Don’t forget Lions Follies is this weekend, tickets are on sale in the cafeteria during lunches and at the ticket booth after school. The price is $6 and they are General Admission.

As you know we are currently collecting perishable items and food gift cards for our Thanksgiving Holiday Baskets and the donations are pouring in – Thank you!  If you know of a family that could benefit from receiving a basket, please see Josh Hahn in the Counseling department.

International Education Week is coming to LHS the week of November 12-18. This is an event that is promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and State in order to promote international learning and exchange. LHS has celebrated this week since 2001. The week's schedule is posted outside the library, and the days events will be read in the daily announcements. Each period in the Forum there will be LHS and guest speakers who will present on a variety of international topics as well as international films. Additionally, there will be an intramural soccer tournament Wednesday after school and a study abroad and culture fair Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 pm. Friday in the Theater their will be an world music concert and dance performance. In addition to attending events with your classes, feel welcome to attend events during your off hours.

TONIGHT we are excited to welcome the Higher Education Access Alliance to LHS.  This is for immigrant families and anyone who would like information on the new opportunities for receiving in-state tuition to college.  It will be held from 5:30-7:00 pm in the LHS library and childcare will be provided.

Schedule adjustments will not be done for second semester until the following dates by grade level:  12th grade: Dec. 2; 11th grade:  Dec. 3; 10th grade Dec. 5 and 9th grade:  Dec. 6.

On Thursday, November 7th, we are excited to welcome the Higher Education Access Alliance to LHS.  This is for immigrant families and anyone who would like information on the new opportunities for receiving in-state tuition to college.  It will be held from 5:30-7:00 pm in the LHS library and childcare will be provided.

Schedule adjustments will not be done for second semester until the following dates by grade level:  12th grade: Dec. 2; 11th grade:  Dec. 3; 10th grade Dec. 5 and 9th grade:  Dec. 6.

Girls Preseason Basketball Camp begins this Thursday, November 7 from 3:00-5:00 and continues on Friday from 5:00-7:00.  Anyone planning on attending tryouts next week are strongly encouraged to attend.

Pre-season Boys Basketball camp will be Thursday from 3-5 in the South Gym and Friday 3-5 in the North Gym.  All players interested in trying out are welcome to attend.

LHS is holding a book drive to support the schools in Lyons impacted by the recent Colorado floods.  Their schools are in need of books appropriate for students in grades K-12.  You can drop off new or gently used books in the attendance office, library or in your language arts classroom starting November 11.  The drive will run through November 22, so there is plenty of time to be part of this flood relief effort!

Congratulations to the winners of the Halloween Costume Contest!  We had a record number of participants this year, which made the selections tough!  Here you go:  Most Creative:  Ona Morgan, Scariest:  Kendall Lassiter, Cutest:  Maddie Fuchs, Funniest:  Ryan Famiglietti, Best Group:  Rachel Pearson, Laura Puchino, Haley Hanna, Madeline Espinoza, Kayla Sapakoff and Kathryn Gerken, and Ms Prestel's choice:  Mr. Marshall!  Please come by the Social Studies office during A lunch anytime this week and pick up your prizes!!  Thanks for participating!

LHS's Speech and Debate team had a successful first tournament of the year at the Cherry Creek Classic.  We had a large number of students earn 'superior' and 'excellent' mentions, and we placed three students in Lincoln-Douglas debate.  Livvy Fore placed sixth, Emily Cassio placed fifth, and Sara Leovic placed third in LD debate.  Great work!  We look forward to more success at our next tournament this weekend at the Golden Demon Invitational.

Students taking AP courses who are in need of financial assistance should stop by the Counseling Office for information regarding the ESCAPE Grant.  ESCAPE stands for Eliminating Student Cost for Advanced Placement Exams. This is a federal grant program sponsored through the Colorado Department of Education.  TODAY is the deadline for completed applications to be returned to Counseling.

Sign up for all LHS students for the swim test held at Littleton are in the Counseling Office.  The test is offered on two separate days, Mon., Nov. 11 or Tues., Nov. 12, at 2:30 pm in the LHS pool-DRESSED and ready to swim.  Students must sign up, as space is limited and you must attend the date you sign up for.  The deadline to sign up is Fri., Nov. 8. For further information and a skills criteria sheet, please stop by the Counseling Office.
