STUDENT BULLETIN

Academic Announcements: 

Juniors and Seniors, listen up!  If you have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater, you are eligible to be an honorary member of National Honor Society.  NHS is the oldest and one of the most respected student recognition organizations. If you are not sure whether or not you are eligible, you can check the bulletin board next to the counseling office.  Students who are eligible are listed by student ID #.  If you are already a senior member you do not need to re-apply.  Those who are eligible can pick-up an application beginning the afternoon of 8/28.  If you have questions, please see NHS sponsors, Mr. Hahn or Ms. Fritz for more information.


Club Announcements: 

Attention any freshmen who picked up a student council officer packet, don’t forget you can start campaigning!  Remember, you want to get your name out to your class so they will vote for you!  Check the regulations on how to put posters up at LHS and let’s see some great campaign posters!!

FCCLA (Families, Career and Community Leaders of America) will be having its first meeting of the year today.  If you are interested in scholarships, leadership skills, culinary competitions and many other events; then don't miss this meeting.  We meet in room 120, right after school this Thursday.  Everyone is welcome to join!

Do you want to make new friends and make a difference?  Then come along and find out more about the Littleton High School Key Club.  Key Club is a service organization that organizes events to help both the local community and people all around the world.  Our first meeting will be today at 2.20 in the courtyard opposite the cafeteria.  Everyone is welcome and there will be popsicles!

FBLA will have our first meeting of the school year today in room 124 at 2:20 pm.  Come and see what we are all about!  Treats will be provided!

Ms. Kowal will hold an informational meeting today after school at 2:30pm in the Forum to determine the future direction of HIP HOP club.  Please plan to attend if you are interested in HIP HOP style dancing and want to participate in this club.

Sports Announcements:

Tryouts for Poms and Cheers will be held September 2nd through September 5th. Are you interested in trying out for Littleton Poms? An informational meeting will be held this TODAY at 2:30 in room 101 and tryout begin next Tuesday. Please see Ms. Montoya with questions. Go Lions!

For those interested in trying out for Cheerleading or Poms next week, you need to submit a current Physical with your application. If you already have a current physical on file with the Athletic Dept, please pick up a clearance card from athletics and turn it in with your application.

 Blog Announcements:

Hi Parents!  Join us for our first Tailgate Party in the stadium parking lot this Friday for our first home game!  If you were at the Glenmoor FUNraiser, the football ticket you received is for THIS GAME!  Let's cheer on the Lions as they face Wheat Ridge at 7pm.

The Choir Department is holding its third annual Garage Sale and Car Wash fundraiser on Saturday, September 6, 8am-12pm in the Littleton High School front parking lot. The money raised will help with the cost of choir outfits for the Troubadours and Syrens.  Donation items for the garage sale would be greatly appreciated, and can be dropped off in the theatre lobby Thursday, September 4, Friday, September 5, or the day of the garage sale between 7am-8am. (All unsold items will be donated to charity after the sale.)  Volunteers to help set up and assist during the event are needed as well.  Come out and show your support for the choir department on Saturday, September 6!  Bring your friends and family!

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will begin next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.

Attention Students:  There is new language in the code of conduct regarding Policy JICG tobacco use.  These changes are board approved and state "Students may not possess tobacco products or paraphernalia on school premises or at school-sponsored events."  Please remember that electronic cigarettes, vape pens, etc are considered to be tobacco paraphernalia.  Listed on page 18 of the LPS code of conduct are specifics regarding rules and consequences.

MANY THANKS to those came to the PTO FUNraiser at Glenmoor last week! Thanks to you, we are off to a great start with raising funds to replace the 25-year-old sound system in the gym.  If you were not able to attend or did not have your checkbook handy, it’s not too late to donate!  Please make checks payable to “LHS PTO” and write “gym sound system” in the memo line.  You can send your check to LHS.
