Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

A fantastic 6-1 win by the boys varsity soccer team last night against Valor High School. Hamadi Ali Abid, Connor Price, and Oscar Sanchez each scored 1 goal and Joe Director scored 3 goals.

The JV boys soccer team defeated Valor Christian 5 to 0 yesterday. Deagan Malloy and Manny Cooke each scored two goals in the big win.

After a great win over Highlands Ranch on Wednesday, the Heritage/Littleton Softball team plays Mountain Vista today at 430pm at their home field.....Euclid Middle School.  Please come support our Softball Team!

Special Homecoming Events:

CONGRATULATIONS to the Sophomore team "Peterson" who won the Dodge Ball Tourney yesterday afternoon!  It was a great tournament--thanks to all of you who had teams and participated!  Don’t forget this afternoon in the north gym is the Guys Volleyball!!  Come see the fun costumes of each of the teams!!

In case you didn't hear last night at the football game, here are the winners of the Parade's float competition: Motorized Float-1st place, Sophomores, 2nd place Seniors, 3rd Place TSA.  Walking Floats:  1st place FBLA/DECA, 2nd The Marching Band, 3rd Varsity Cheers!  It was a wonderful Parade, nice job to EVERYONE who participated!

TODAY during lunches will be the last time you can pick up Class T-shirts until Winter Dance week in January....so come by the concession stand and get your shirt!!  Remember, we have some Spirit Fridays coming up, where you can win prizes if you are wearing your class t-shirt!!

Don’t forget the Dance is a formal affair--we would like you to look your best, so please: no denim, no shorts, or short skirts, obey the 5 B's of dress code and please no hats (unless the hat is part of the theme).  There will be a coat check but you cannot go back to pick up items until the end of the evening.  You cannot put your shoes in with coat check items.  Finally, the ticket prices are the same at the door as they are pre-bought; but save yourself waiting in line and buy your tickets ahead of time--make sure you have your student ID too! Attention Sophomores and Juniors: The PSAT test date is Wednesday, October 15th at 7:30am in the South Gym. Sign-ups will begin Monday, Sept. 22nd and conclude Friday, October 10th. Sign up in the counseling office and bring $20 (non-refundable). Space is limited so do not wait until the last minute!

Special Homecoming Events:

LAST CHANCE to pick up class t-shirts before the pep assembly is this morning from 7am-8:30 from the concession stand!  They will also be available at lunches today in case you can’t make the morning--that way you will have your shirt for the Spirit Fridays the rest of the year!

TODAY is the BEST day of Homecoming week!!  We have the pep assembly this morning, so be ready to have some loud spirit.  At 2:45 head down to the south gym to see the Dodge Ball tournament between the classes!  Then at 6pm in the stadium parking lot there is a tailgater BBQ for you to get some dinner before heading to the Football game and cheering on our lions to victory over the Stanley Lake Gators!!  The tailgater is only $3 all you can eat for upper classmen and FREE for freshmen. Have fun and GO LIONS Footbal!

Tomorrow’s Spirit Dress is Caesar Salad Day - wear your best toga or laurel wreath!  After school the Homecoming Boys Volleyball tournament will take place in the North gym.

Today is an EIGHT Period Day – Periods 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Senior girls!!  They won the Powder Puff competition yesterday afternoon!  They defeated the Sophomores in a hard fought game then went on to beat the juniors in the championship game!  Way to go--they are two time winners!  And thanks to everyone who was in the crowd--it was the best ever!

If you left after the Powder Puff games you missed pure excitement! Men's C Team came from being down 3-0 to win 5-4 scoring the go ahead goal in the last minute and a half of play.  A fantastic team effort! Goals were scored by Nasr Ali Abid, Tucson DeShon, Duke Hindman added two and Captain Alexis Valles Alvarado put the Lions in the lead for good in the 78th minute.  Come out today and support the team when they play Thunder Ridge at 4 pm today on the grass field.

The JV soccer team won the contest against D'Evelyn 6 to 2 on Monday.  Matteo Tesei and Emmanuel Cooke each scored two goals in the win.

LHS Cross Country boys team finished sixth 6th out of 25 teams this week.  Colin Cannon and Tommy Kail finished together to lead the Lions.  Sam Bateman took 3rd place in the open race.  The girls wedged into 10th-place, led by Addi Iken.  Way to go Lions!

Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the boys tennis team. Their 7-0 victory yesterday at Standley Lake propelled them to a 5-0 league record. Take a break from all the homecoming activities to watch the team compete in the Littleton Invitational, going on all day this Friday at our courts. See you there.

Congratulations to the Men's C Team Soccer for their 5-2 victory over Legend. The Lion's were led on offense by Edgar Lopez, Nasr Ali Abid and Alden Kramer each with one goal and Duke Hindman with two goals. Come support the team today at 4:30 after the Poweder Puff games when they take on Cherokee Trail.

Homecoming tickets will go on sale TODAY in the hallway next to the concession stand by the gym. You can buy your ticket, then go over and buy your Class t-shirt!!  Tickets are $15 and that will get you a soda and treat from the DECA store during the dance.  Buy early and skip the long lines the night of the dance!

Any student who picked up an ambassador form from Ms Prestel, you need to return it TODAY in order to be an ambassador this year.  And don’t forget Officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, there is a VERY important General Council meeting on Monday the 15th--we need to confirm ALL our Homecoming activities!

Littleton Cross Country team ran FAST at Heritage's Liberty Bell Invitational. Colin Cannon, running 16:26 led the boys to a 14th-place finish. Addi Iken, running a very speedy 19:37, led the girls to take 17th-place.  Awesome running, Lions!

After beating Cherokee Trail on Saturday, the Heritage/Littleton Varsity Softball team has a home game TODAY at 4:30pm at Euclid Middle School.  Please come support your Softball Team!

Attention Students and Parents - Mark your calendars for the upcoming "College Information Night" which will take place Wednesday, October 1st, 6:00-8:00 pm. We will have a short introductory presentation followed by three rotations of 25 minute breakout sessions on topics including:  Paying For College, College Entrance Exams, The Parent's Role, Building Your College List and Inside the Admissions Process.  All students and their parents are welcome.

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.
