STUDENT BULLETIN

Special Events:

The Stride is Sunday, October 25th! Register online at www.RunTheStride.com and please be sure to put LHS in the "I support" section!  This is a fantastic school community event!!

Club Announcements:

After a second half come back, your combined mixed Ultimate team lost to CIVA 12-8 yesterday. We take on East on the grass on Monday at 4:15. Come check it out!

All FCCLA members need to bring their ingredients and be prepared to cook on Monday afternoon from 2:30-4:30.

The STEM club will be meeting this Monday the 26th after school in room 1610! If you missed the informational meeting, that's fine. Come to this meeting and we will sign you up! Make sure you come to this meeting to prepare for our upcoming event!

Other Announcements:

Halloween will soon be here, and to get you into the Spirit-(ha ha) Student Council has put up decorations around the school.  We ask that you please do not take these down or mess with them in any way; they took the committee a long time to put up, so respect their work please and ENJOY!

LHS PTO will again be hosting a “Paint Drop Off” for water-based paints and stains on Saturday, Oct. 24 form 10-2 on the 24th in the South parking lot (near cafeteria). No charge for dropping off paint, but donations for LHS after-prom are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Halloween O Grams on sale all this week and next!  Do you like candy?  Do you have some friends you would like to send a FUN message to?  If so, you need to buy a Halloween O Gram from a Student Council member for only $1--such a deal!  They will be on sale until Oct. 29th, so pick yours up today!

Students, do you need help with a particularly difficult class, subject or assignment?  If so, we have a great resource for you!  National Honor Society students are offering free one on one tutoring in the counseling office.  These students excel academically and are required to tutor.  They are available every day throughout the day and there is a list of tutors available on Mr. Hahn's office door.

The Safe2Tell Colorado mobile app for reporting threatening behaviors and safety concerns in Colorado is now available for students, parents and community members on the Apple App Store for iphones/ipads and Google Play for Android devices. Students interested in attending the Dr. Temple Grandin presentation in the Theater on December 7th at 4pm may go to the LHS website and click on the invitation on the front page to reserve a seat. Information has been sent to parents and we want students who are interested to be able to sign up as well.

Sports Announcements:

Pink out at the volleyball match TONIGHT! Come support the girls volleyball teams and Breast Cancer Awareness Month at our home volleyball match tonight! Show your spirit and wear pink!

There is an optional girls swim practice TODAY from 3:00-4:00. Please meet at the pool.

FBLA will meet Thursday at 2:20 pm in room 1975.  We will be having a very important meeting to review events for the upcoming FBLA competition season.

Film Club is having its first meeting TODAY, in room 1749 at 2:20. If you enjoy collaborating with others and making short films, this is the club for you!

Calling all writers, actors, directors, and camera people: Film Club is having its first meeting this Thursday, in room 1749. The meeting will begin after school at 2:20. If you enjoy collaborating with others and making short films, this is the club for you! Join your peers in writing scripts, acting, and working the camera, among other things! Come to the first meeting to learn more. See Sarah Urtz or Ms. Fritz with questions.

Each school will receive one grand prize, as well as two runner-up prizes. (Grand Prize: Portable Bluetooth Speaker; Runner-Up Prizes: $15 iTunes Gift Card).

The drawing will take place either Friday afternoon or Monday morning. Winners will be notified by the kitchen manager. Eat lunch at school!

The JV boys soccer team won the league championship with an undefeated 9 and 0 record. They finished the season yesterday with a 7 to 1 victory over Conifer.  Tonight is senior night for the Varsity boys soccer team. Watch them take on Conifer at 7:00 in the stadium.

Regional College Fair at LHS is TONIGHT from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the cafeteria! LHS will host more than 40 colleges from Colorado and the surrounding area.

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  College admissions representatives from Barnard College in New York and Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle will visit LHS on Wednesday, Oct. 21st. Please sign up on your Naviance account to attend.

Attention students attending the field trip to UCD this Thursday!  Your two permission slips (one for LHS and one for UCD) are due to Post Grad TODAY by 2:30 pm.  If we don't receive your forms, you will not be able to come along!

The Littleton High School Booster Club is made up of parents with a vested interest in their child’s success and the success of our athletic program.  The Booster Club can only be successful with participation both from parents and coaches. We need your help!! PLEASE support your student athlete and attend the October Booster Club Meeting this Monday, October 19th at 7:00pm in the Forum.  All team coaches and team parent representatives are expected to attend the monthly booster club meetings.  We are hoping Mondays’ meeting will include a status update on the Fall Sports season.
