CONGRATULATIONS:
Congratulations to the LHS Mock Trial team for an outstanding performance at the Colorado Bar State Mock Trial competition over the weekend. The team had a fantastic showing, and a special shoutout to Andrew Orcutt for placing 3rd overall for outstanding witness. Mock On
Speech and Debate had a great final tournament, and these students all made finals: Kaylie Droy, Emmett Moxon, Laurel Moxon, Abby Long, Gavin Reidy, Caroline May, and Charlotte Whitehurst. Both Caroline and Charlotte also qualified for Nationals, and the team got 3rd place in our district for Speech events! Congrats to the team for an amazing season!
Congrats to the Boys and Girls track teams who defeated Wheat Ridge Handley on Saturday at the LPS Duals track meet. The girls defeated the farmers 92-37, and the Boys plowed the farmers 82-57! Top performers were Jonas, Jenna, Wren, and the boys 4x800m relay team, who all finished in the top of the meet standings! Next up, both JV and Varsity Track teams compete on Wednesday!
The LHS Boys Swim & Dive Team kept it rollin' on Friday night with a taming of the Tigers of Lakewood. Superb performances by Nate Roybal, Steffan Bishop, Eli MOrris and River Hawkins paved the way for an easy victory. The difficulty steps up BIG time this week when Discovery Canyon and Ralston Valley come into our "Den" looking to ruin our undefeated season. We need to pack the stands on both Tuesday and Thursday. Come support the Boys as they look to 3-peat as League Champs and compete for a State Championship. Go Lions!

Sources of Strength Mental Health Tip for the Week: Sometimes our inner thoughts can be very critical. We all need to learn how to be gentler to ourselves. How can we do this? Every time you have a negative thought about yourself, rephrase it. This can sound like "Oops, I made a mistake. Next time I will be better. I'm human and I'm learning and growing." Or “I'm having a rough time, but I'll make it through.”
After a while, you rewire your brain so you aren't so harsh with yourself. Try it out! If you still need help, reach out to our counseling team.
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) will meet today after school in the library from 3:35–4:30 p.m. Come join us to meet new people, share ideas, and help build a supportive community. Everyone is welcome!

Mr. Lion's Talent Show is up and coming!! Auditions are on Thursday, April 9th, after school in the theatre. LHS students of all grades are invited to participate in this pageant-style competition, which includes a lip-sync battle, an interview, and a personal talent. A winner will be determined by a teacher-judge panel based on commitment to the bit, actual talent, and crowd enthusiasm. The winner will be awarded some sort of prize.
Rehearsals are Tuesday & Wednesday, April 21st & 22nd, and Mr. Lion’s will be held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026!! We hope to see you there!

Kalpana Chawla fue una ingeniera aeroespacial y astronauta de la NASA que se convirtió en una de las primeras mujeres de origen indio en viajar al espacio. Colaboró en importantes investigaciones científicas a bordo del transbordador espacial Columbia. Aunque su vida se vio interrumpida prematuramente, su legado sigue inspirando a los estudiantes de ciencias e ingeniería. Ella creía que los sueños realmente pueden hacerse realidad.
FELICITACIONES:
Felicitaciones al equipo de simulacros de juicios de LHS por su magnífica actuación en el concurso estatal de simulacros de juicios del Colegio de Abogados de Colorado celebrado este fin de semana. El equipo tuvo una actuación fantástica, y queremos destacar especialmente a Andrew Orcutt por haber quedado en tercer lugar en la clasificación general como mejor testigo. ¡Sigue así!
El equipo de discurso y debate tuvo un magnífico torneo final, y todos estos estudiantes llegaron a la final: Kaylie Droy, Emmett Moxon, Laurel Moxon, Abby Long, Gavin Reidy, Caroline May y Charlotte Whitehurst. ¡Tanto Caroline como Charlotte se clasificaron además para el Campeonato Nacional y el equipo obtuvo el tercer puesto en nuestro distrito en las pruebas de discurso! Felicidades al equipo por una temporada increíble.
Felicitaciones a los equipos de atletismo masculino y femenino, que derrotaron a Wheat Ridge Handley el sábado en la competición doble de atletismo de LPS. ¡Las chicas vencieron a las Farmers por 92 a 37, y los chicos arrollaron a los Farmers por 82 a 57! Los mejores resultados los obtuvieron Jonas, Jenna, Wren y el equipo masculino de relevos 4x800 m, ¡que terminaron todos en lo más alto de la clasificación del encuentro! A continuación, tanto el equipo JV como el Varsity de atletismo compiten el miércoles.
El equipo masculino de natación y saltos de LHS siguió con su racha el viernes por la noche al imponerse a los Tigres de Lakewood. Las magníficas actuaciones de Nate Roybal, Steffan Bishop, Eli Morris y River Hawkins abrieron el camino hacia una victoria fácil. La dificultad aumenta MUCHO esta semana, cuando Discovery Canyon y Ralston Valley vengan a nuestra casa con la intención de arruinar nuestra temporada invicta. Tenemos que llenar las gradas tanto el martes como el jueves. Ven a apoyar a los chicos en su intento de conseguir el tercer título consecutivo de campeones de liga y competir por el campeonato estatal. ¡Vamos, Leones!

Todos necesitamos aprender a ser más amables con nosotros mismos. ¿Cómo podemos hacerlo? Cada vez que tengas un pensamiento negativo sobre ti mismo, reformúlalo. Por ejemplo: “Vaya, he cometido un error. La próxima vez lo haré mejor. Soy humano y estoy aprendiendo y creciendo” o “Estoy pasando por un mal momento, pero lo superaré”.

¡¡Se acerca el Concurso de Talentos del Sr. León! Las audiciones tendrán lugar el jueves 9 de abril, después de clase, en el teatro. Se invita a los estudiantes de LHS de todos los años a participar en este concurso al estilo de un certamen de belleza, que incluye una batalla de doblaje, una entrevista y una actuación de talento personal. El ganador será elegido por un jurado compuesto por maestros, que valorará el compromiso con la actuación, el talento real y el entusiasmo del público. El ganador recibirá algún tipo de premio.
Los ensayos serán el martes 21 y el miércoles 22 de abril, y la función del Sr. León se celebrará el jueves 23 de abril de 2026! ¡Esperamos verte allí!
