Academic Announcements:


Students who are planning to take AP exams can pay for their exams in the counseling office Feb. 11 - March 31.  Students must first complete and print a copy of the AP survey on their Naviance account to bring with them when paying for their exams.  They must bring a check made out to LHS or pay cash at the time of registration.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling Office.

Wear pink when you purchase your ticket and receive $1 off each ticket purchased!

Well, your fellow peer counselors will be leading group discussions every Monday after school from 2:15-3:30 in the counseling office!  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to Jake Bergman and Rachel Ericson who signed their letters of intent yesterday.  Jake will be attending CSU Pueblo to play football and Rachel will be attending Luther College to play soccer.  Way to go LIONS!!

Congratulations to the girls varsity basketball team for their victory over Douglas County on Tuesday night, 47-40.  Senior Stephanie Puchino and Sophomore Laura Puchino each scored 14 points while sophomore Kiera Lindgren added 8 points and 7 rebounds in a big conference win.  Make sure to come out and support our Lions this Friday night at home vs. Castle View as we hit the final stretch of the season and into the playoffs.  Go Lions!!

The Unified Basketball team kept their unbeaten streak alive with a commanding win over Mountain Vista, 80 to 50.  Next game is Monday night at home at 7pm.  It is senior night so come cheer us to victory.

Good Luck to the Lady Lionfish!!!  Tomorrow eight of our Lady Lionfish will compete at the 5A Girls State Swimming & Diving Championship in Fort Collins.  We want to wish good luck to Claire Tronrud, Claire Martin, Maddy Montgomery, Megan Sanders, Morgan Zueger, and Hailey Egelhoff, Abby VanKooten, and Cookie Jeter.  When you see these ladies in their tuxedos today -wish them luck!  Go LIONS!!

Whether you're staying in IB next year, are taking a different academic path, or are unsure, this meeting is for you. Bring your lunch and be prompt. Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the LHS Lady Lionfish on their performance at the Continental A-League Meet held last Friday and Saturday.  Special Congratulations to Maddie Montgomery who qualified for State in the 200 free.  Freshman Claire Tronrud also narrowly missed qualifying for State in both the 200 free and the 100 breaststroke by tenths of a second, as did Claire Martin in the 100 Free.  Others placing in the top 18 were:

•    200 Medley Relay - Hailey Egelhoff, Claire Tronrud, Claire Martin, Morgan Zueger  11th
•    200 Free - Maddie Montgomery  7th; Claire Tronrud  8th
•    Diving - Caitlin Durston  10th; Sarrelle Schultheis  18th

The LHS Speech and Debate team had a great showing at the Blazing Sun tournament on Saturday. Special congratulations to Emily Cassio, who finished third overall in Lincoln Douglas debate out of more than 50 debaters. We would also like to recognize Maddie Chandler, who advanced to quarterfinals in the Lincoln-Douglas debate as one of the top 8 debaters at the tournament. The following team members earned Superior recognition at the tournament:  The teams of Andy Wilcoxen and Will Brown, and Hannah Poe and Nick Ditter in Public Forum Debate, Stephanie Kern-Allely in Poetry, and the team of Ryan Famiglietti and Kelly Dinneen in Policy Debate.  Please wish our team good luck this Saturday at the DPS Invitational Debate tournament.

On Friday night in our gym both the C team and varsity defeated Rock Canyon with JV coming up a little short.  The C team and varsity started quickly and held on for the victory.  Thank you to all the loud fans who cheered us on to victory. We take on Douglas County tomorrow night at home.

GSA and the Equity Conference planners will be meeting today after school in the art room.  Our yearbook photo will be taken at 2:20...don't miss it!
