Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team who swept the visiting Fruita Wildcats last night at home in a three game sweep! The Lady Lions held off Fruita 25-17, 25-23, and 25-11. Congrats and good luck this weekend as they travel to the Gold Crown facility for the Regis Volleyball Tournament!

The JV boys’ soccer team had a hard fought 1 to 0 victory over Cherokee Trail yesterday. Matteo Tesei scored the goal.

Sports Announcements:

The Heritage/Littleton Softball team is starting their season with a tournament in Erie this weekend.  They are playing 4 games Friday and Saturday afternoon.  There is a game on Tuesday against Arapahoe at 7pm at DeKoevand Park.  This is the only evening game of the season.  Please come and cheer them on!

Tryouts for Poms and Cheers will be held September 2nd through September 5th.

For those interested in trying out for Cheerleading or Poms next week, you need to submit a current Physical with your application. If you already have a current physical on file with the Athletic Dept, please pick up a clearance card from athletics and turn it in with your application.

Hi Parents!  Join us for our first Tailgate Party in the stadium parking lot this Friday for our first home game!  If you were at the Glenmoor FUNraiser, the football ticket you received is for THIS GAME!  Let's cheer on the Lions as they face Wheat Ridge at 7pm.

The Choir Department is holding its third annual Garage Sale and Car Wash fundraiser on Saturday, September 6, 8am-12pm in the Littleton High School front parking lot. The money raised will help with the cost of choir outfits for the Troubadours and Syrens.  Donation items for the garage sale would be greatly appreciated, and can be dropped off in the theatre lobby Thursday, September 4, Friday, September 5, or the day of the garage sale between 7am-8am. (All unsold items will be donated to charity after the sale.)  Volunteers to help set up and assist during the event are needed as well.  Come out and show your support for the choir department on Saturday, September 6!  Bring your friends and family!

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will begin next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.

Attention Students:  There is new language in the code of conduct regarding Policy JICG tobacco use.  These changes are board approved and state "Students may not possess tobacco products or paraphernalia on school premises or at school-sponsored events."  Please remember that electronic cigarettes, vape pens, etc are considered to be tobacco paraphernalia.  Listed on page 18 of the LPS code of conduct are specifics regarding rules and consequences.

Academic Announcements: 

Juniors and Seniors, listen up!  If you have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater, you are eligible to be an honorary member of National Honor Society.  NHS is the oldest and one of the most respected student recognition organizations. If you are not sure whether or not you are eligible, you can check the bulletin board next to the counseling office.  Students who are eligible are listed by student ID #.  If you are already a senior member you do not need to re-apply.  Those who are eligible can pick-up an application beginning the afternoon of 8/28.  If you have questions, please see NHS sponsors, Mr. Hahn or Ms. Fritz for more information.

Attention any freshmen who picked up a student council officer packet, don’t forget you can start campaigning!  Remember, you want to get your name out to your class so they will vote for you!  Check the regulations on how to put posters up at LHS and let’s see some great campaign posters!!

FCCLA (Families, Career and Community Leaders of America) will be having its first meeting of the year today.  If you are interested in scholarships, leadership skills, culinary competitions and many other events; then don't miss this meeting.  We meet in room 120, right after school this Thursday.  Everyone is welcome to join!

Do you want to make new friends and make a difference?  Then come along and find out more about the Littleton High School Key Club.  Key Club is a service organization that organizes events to help both the local community and people all around the world.  Our first meeting will be today at 2.20 in the courtyard opposite the cafeteria.  Everyone is welcome and there will be popsicles!

FBLA will have our first meeting of the school year today in room 124 at 2:20 pm.  Come and see what we are all about!  Treats will be provided!

Ms. Kowal will hold an informational meeting today after school at 2:30pm in the Forum to determine the future direction of HIP HOP club.  Please plan to attend if you are interested in HIP HOP style dancing and want to participate in this club.

Varsity boys soccer team defeated Dakota Ridge yesterday in a 5 -1, Congratulations!

The JV boys soccer team scored early and often during their 9 to 0 victory over Dakota Ridge yesterday. Matteo Tesei had 2 goals and 3 assists and Chico Barron also netted 2 goals for the Lions.

Attention Seniors!  Senior Photos are being taken again today, weather permitting!  Should it start to rain, we will postpone Seniors Photos until Tuesday, September 4th.  Every senior needs to take a photo with the school photographer. Go to the main entrance at your scheduled appointment time or during your off period. Senior photos are due September 5th if you plan on submitting a photo on your own,.  See Ms. Fisher with questions.

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band!!  The "Lion Pride" Band competed in Colorado State Fair Parade in Pueblo this past Saturday and finished 2nd in the 4A Division and placed 3rd in the Overall Sweepstakes among 16 competing Bands. The Band also achieved their highest score ever at this event.    Go Band!!!

Congratulations to Varsity Football for their win against Golden High School and to Varsity Volleyball for their win against South High.  GO LIONS!

Sports Announcements:

Wrestling - Fall open mat wrestling starts Tuesday and runs every Tuesday from 2:45-4:00 until the wrestling season starts in November.  See coach Burton in the Science department if you are interested in being on the team.
