“Jazz in the Lobby” TODAY after school in the Main Front Lobby.  Come Hang-Out in your best costume and enjoy the sounds of the LHS Jazz Ensemble.

All LHS Students, come out and join the "Lion Pride" Marching Band this Friday on the field to dance the "Thriller Dance" by Michael Jackson.  Come after school at 3pm TODAY to learn the dance and be able to join the Band on the Field at the Football Game half-time show TONIGHT.  See Mr. Emmons or a Band member for more details.

Sports Announcements:

Football fans - the last home football game is TONIGHT at 7pm in the stadium.  Everyone should wear GOLD.  Put on your “Restore the Roar” t-shirt and show your Lion Pride!

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Volleyball Team who will be competing in the Regional Tournament tomorrow at Ponderosa High School! The Lions play Falcon High School at 11:00 and Ponderosa High School at 1:00. The winner of the tournament will compete at the State Championships at the Denver Coliseum next week-end! Congratulations and good luck ladies!

The Boys Soccer State Quarterfinals is this Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 6:00 pm. The game is at Air Academy High School's Stadium (aka The K-Dome). Because the stadium is on the grounds of the Air Force Academy, a closed military installation, there are strict guidelines on attending games there. Please go to the Athletic Website (www.littletonlions.net) under "Athletic Headlines" for information on attending games at AAHS. Please read and adhere to the information and remember to allow extra time for the security checks at the gate.

Congratulations to your Lion Ultimate Gold team as they finished their regular season 8-0 with a win against Collegiate Academy yesterday. Wish both teams luck as they head to state next weekend!

Lions Follies.  Are you looking for a way to share your talent?  Try out for the Lions Follies Talent Show.  Tryouts will be held on November 10th and 11th from 3:10 to 5:45, and you can sign up for a tryout time on the bulletin board in the art hallway.  You will have 3-5 minutes for your audition time, and we welcome all types of talent and skills, including MC tryouts.  The Lions Follies show will be on December 5th and 6th.  See Sam or Elisabeth Sanson, or Mr. Saliman for more details.

Students – do you have a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. Congratulation Varsity Boys Soccer for their 1 – 0 win over Durango High School!  The team has advanced to Quarter finals of the State playoffs.  We will play Air Academy on Saturday.  Stay tuned for details.

Congratulations Varsity Volleyball for qualifying for Regionals.  Games are this Saturday at Ponderosa High School.  We play Falcon at 11am and Ponderosa at 1pm.  Good luck ladies!

Students, have you noticed the veterans who carry the flags out on the 50-yard line for the National Anthem at home football games?  They are members of the American Legion, and each year, this organization sponsors an oratory contest. Winners from each state event go to nationals, where the first prize winner last year won an $18,000 scholarship.  If you are interested in participating in this contest, please go to their website, www.legion.org/oratorical.  The Colorado competition will be held this January, right here in Littleton, at Arapahoe Community College.

Have you completed Introduction to Computer Science and are looking for the next programming class that we have to offer? We are excited to offer Computer Science II starting in January.  The course will be taught by Ms. Montoya and is open to any student who has completed the Intro course. If you are interested in this class, please see your counselor at once so that we can enroll you and make any necessary schedule adjustments.

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulations to your "Lion Pride" Marching Band on their strong showing at the CBA State Marching Band Championships this past Saturday.  The Band moved up a spot to finish 16th overall in the State and received their highest score of the Competition Season.  Go Band!

Congratulations to all the students, families and faculty who participated in the Stride on Sunday. Through your efforts we had the greatest high school participation and we received $1,000 for our school from the Littleton Foundation. This is the fourth straight year that LHS has won this award.  Great job everyone!! GO LIONS!!

Congratulations to the athletes who represented Littleton High School on Saturday at the State cross country meet in Colorado Springs.  On a hot day and a dusty, hilly course, Addi Iken finished 53rd in the 4A girls championship race, while Colin Cannon was 81st and Tommy Kail was 105th in the 4A boys race.  Give them a fist bump when you see them for a job well done, and kudos to the entire cross country team for a terrific season!

Congratulation to the Varsity Football team for their win over Ponderosa 21-19!  Come out to support their last home game on Friday at 7pm.

Come out to support Varsity Boys soccer play in the 2nd round of State playoffs tomorrow night! We will host Durango at 5pm in the stadium.  A reminder because this is a playoff game, no passes will be accepted.  Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for general admission.  GO LIONS!

Remember when you would carve pumpkins with your family?  Well, you can relive those memories here at LHS!  Student Council is sponsoring a Pumpkin Carving Contest after school in the cafeteria on Tuesday Oct. 28th!  There will be different categories--most scary, most LHS spirit and most creative--with prizes for the winning pumpkins!  Your pumpkins will also be on display in the lobby--so come one and come all to have some Halloween fun!
